Beauty Tuesday: Drugstore Pantone 2016 Favourites!

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints in Rose Hip & Blueberry, Primark Minty Lip Balm & Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadow in Pink Gold (above).

Yesterday’s post was all about 2016’s Pantone colours, mainly the two most serene, pastel like hues, Rose Quartz and Serenity. It seems they’ve been around for a while in the cosmetic industry and are going nowhere fast. Good news if you like to get your beauty trend fix at the drugstore!

Two recent purchases I made couldn’t be closer matches to Rose Quartz and Serenity, Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Paints in Rose Hip and Blueberry. If you’re a Barry M fan, you can get two of these uber glossy polishes for £6 at Boots stores at the moment, I bought two and saved £1.98 on some bang on trend colours. Out of all the polishes I own though, I rarely buy Barry M, but I can’t get over how many of their Gelly Hi-Shine range are perfect matches for the 10 hues in 2016’s Pantone trend forecast!

If you like Rose Quartz and Serenity, Rose Hip and Blueberry (pictured above) are for you!

If you’re looking for something fiery and sizzling, Satsuma is very much like Fiesta,

Whilst Lychee is an excellent muted manicure match for Iced Coffee,

And Key Lime was very much inspired by Green Flash,

Looking for Lilac Gray inspiration? Prickly pear is the ultimate shiny lilac shade for spring,

While Sky Blue is the ultimate colour copy of Limpet Shell!

It’s almost as if Barry M predicted Pantone’s trend colour forecast!

While the more vibrant colours are excellent for your wardrobe, accessories and nails, when it comes to make-up you may want to look to the more subdued shades.  My favourite eye make-up switch up of the moment is Maybelline’s colour tattoo long lasting eyeshadow in Pink Gold, a rose gold shade wearable for most eye colours.

Rummaging around in Primark earlier this week I came across my new favourite lip tin adorned with my favourite animal in pale pink and blue. The minty lip balm inside may lack colour, but Primark sure know how to make pretty tins!
