Make-up Monday…

Autumn Fashion, AW17, Beauty & Fragrance, Colours, Cosmetics Collections, Popular Culture, Retail

Something rather exciting is causing a stir online, thanks to its beautiful bold colours.  BH Cosmetics have just launched quite possibly the only eyeshadow collection you’ll ever need.  Studio Pro Ultimate Artistry has 42 super pigmented shades, yes, 42! This power packed palette has a shade to suit just about anyone – and there is a mixture of finishes: velvety mattes, shimmers, duo-chromes, metallics and soft shimmer shades.

Thanks to the BH Cosmetics website, we’ve got an idea of what some of these beautiful eye colours look like, and they are stunning!

Whether you’re a colour buff who loves to experiment with bold eye shades, or you like an earthier, more natural toned look, Ultimate Artistry beholds your brand new colour crush for your best eye make-up creations yet!

The palette itself has sleek, professional looking packaging like a make-up artist’s kit.  The only thing it lacks is a mirror inside the lid.  The eclectic rainbow of shades and finishes more than make up for the absence of a mirror.

What’s more, the price point of BH Cosmetics palettes isn’t as steep as the likes of Urban Decay, Violet Voss, Kat Von D and other brands that make beautiful eye palettes.  Studio Pro Ultimate Artistry retails for around $19.99, around £15 in the UK and can be ordered here:

NARS are about to settle where life imitates art, with their massive new make-up collection for Holiday 2017.

Francois NARS has taken a large chunk of inspiration from surrealist artist and photographer Man Ray as his muse, for quite possibly NARS’ most stunning colour cosmetic collection yet.

The artist’s iconic works have been beautifully adorned onto the exterior of a handful of the NARS x Man Ray pieces, and the shades within each palette are just as chic.

Glass Tears is a 6 strong collection of richly pigmented eyeshadows in smoky black, teal, olive, golds and rusts, the perfect eye shadow shades for Autumn/Winter 2017.

No matter how you play it, soft or smoky, the Love Game palette of 12 eye-catching matte and gilded shades will be right up your shadow street!

No filter needed with The Veil cheek trio. This cheek palette is all you need to contour, glow, and pop with buildable dimension.

Double your pleasure… because you can’t have too much of a good thing… introducing Love Triangles… a lipstick and blush duo housed in Man Ray’s rather pleasurable pyramid.  Love Triangles combine two universally flattering hues for lips and cheeks…

Love Triangle: Orgasm Lipstick & Orgasm Blush

Love Triangle: Dolce Vita Lipstick & Audrey Blush

Love Triangle: Rita Lipstick and Hot Sand Blush

Pink Grapefruit Blush will deliver the perfect pop of healthy glow throughout the sallow winter months.

Photogloss Lip Lacquers are the all new product in the mix and 4 shades are available.  A reddish hazelnut, a fuchsia, a burgundy and a golden shimmer, all of which boast a high shine formula.

Overexposed Glow Highlighter is embossed with Man Ray’s signature lips motif and is the perfect glow-getter for a flush of radiance!

NARS x Man Ray also features two eyeliner shades, Santiago (reddish brown) and Nagoya (deep purple).

Time to say bye bye to those floaty summer dresses and dig out all of your deep night shade colours once again. Where has this year gone!

So swap ensembles like this …

Dupe Alert!

Beauty & Fragrance, Colours, Cosmetics Collections, DIY Health & Beauty, Economics & Finance, Fashion, High Street Heroes, Pattern & Print, Retail, SS17, Tips

There are hundreds of holy grail palettes on the market, some of which come with price tags that aren’t exactly within everybody’s reach. Many people also have an ethical reason to source a dupe rather than the original itself; while there are several make-up companies who don’t test on animals, unfortunately, some of the biggest brands are not cruelty free. While no bunnies were harmed in the making of Urban Decay’s Naked Palettes, they are a little on the pricey side, retailing at almost £40 on the UD website! Luckily, many mid-range and drugstore brands recognise such high-end price taggery and are always keeping a close watch of the beauty trends for major dupe inspiration.

Naked Heat Palette, £39.50, Urban Decay

BH Cosmetics Solar Flare, Galaxy Chic and Supernova Palettes

BH Cosmetics, from the City of Angels, are affordable, cruelty free and their products ooze plenty of LA cool! They drew lots of inspiration from the big fascination with galaxy print when they bought out their Solar Flare, Supernova and Galaxy Chic baked eyeshadow palettes, housing all of that celestial magic in the most beautifully printed compacts.

Urban Decay Moondust Palette, £36

BH Cosmetics Supernova Palette, £11.80 ($15.99) on

Super pigmented, finely milled shades that suit everyone, and Supernova has to be a definite dupe of UD’s Moondust palette, which doesn’t host as many shades as these beauties. The latest addition to the BH Cosmetics Milky Way, Solar Flare, boasts several pearlescent deep neutrals almost identical to UD Naked Heat, so much so it could safely pass as a dupe.

BH Cosmetics Solar Flare 18-colour baked eyeshadow palette, £11.80 ($15.99) on

There are benefits to rummaging the drugstores or the world wide web for dupes, you discover your new favourite cosmetic brand, you end up with a lot more product for your money, and you may find a dupe that’s even better than the real thing!
