Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow palette is an irresistible collection of shimmery, neutrals and smokey hues which is sweetly packaged in juicy peach packaging, for beauty addicts, it’s undoubtedly temptation at its best, but it’s £34 price tag may mean for some people, Sweet Peach is forbidden fruit.

Don’t despair if you’re a beautista on a budget, TAM Beauty brand I Heart Make-up London heard your calls for a purse friendly dupe of Too Faced Chocolate palettes, the Chocolate & Peaches palette, £8 is more like a straight up copy of Sweet Peach, the packaging, while a little plainer, is modelled to look like a peach bar of chocolate, with shades inside that are identical to it’s Too Faced counterpart.

Something I Heart Make-up have included in their version is a double sponge applicator, the type of tool that’s usually discarded by many of us in favour of a professional brush, Too Faced Sweet Peach doesn’t include an applicator and the mirror inside is smaller than that of Chocolate & Peaches palette.

Looking at both, the shades are almost the same the only difference is their position in the palettes.

This is the best dupe of Sweet Peach by Too Faced I’ve come across and £26 cheaper than the original.

There’s no doubt that over the past few years, nail effects and nail art have been enjoying a rather big moment.

Holographic, glittery, textured, beaded… the beauty market has experienced a boom in nail trends, some of which were never tried before.

Magnetic nail polish, which has only been around this past five or so years, is one of the new phenomenons that will take your manicure from everyday chic to envy inducing and edgy.

Magnetic nail polish…? You may be asking yourself how does this work…? The science behind the magnetic mani is the magnetic particles that have been mixed into the polish that are able to create a pattern when they come into contact with a magnetic force. Most magnetic nail polishes have a magnet on their lid, as this is held over the newly painted nail, the iron powder in the polish gravitates towards the magnet to create the astonishing finish. As if by magic!

One of the first brands to foray into the magnetic field of nail patterns is Nails Inc, who came out with eight jewel-toned metallic colours, each of which boast their own magnet to create an individual magnetic pattern, from fishnet, to star, to wave, magnetic nail polishes attract so many opportunities to take your normal nail look to the next level!

Creating a magnetized mani at home couldn’t be easier.  All you need to do is apply 1 coat of magnetic nail polish, then carefully hold the magnet close over each nail, taking care not to hit your wet nails.  Hold the magnet over each nail for 1 to 2 seconds to create a mesmerising pattern.  Then wait 10-15 minutes for your first coat to dry, and if you feel a second coat is needed, apply a second coat of your magnetic polish, and hold the magnet close to each nail like you did with your first coat.  Wait until it is touch dry then apply a top coat to protect your newly metallized talons.

Nails Inc are giving you the opportunity to experience the full magnet magic for yourself, thanks to a very exciting promotion on their website.   All you need to do is enter the code FESTIVALNAILS at checkout, when purchasing their full collection of 8 magnetic polishes, which is called the Festival Fever Collection.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw how much I’d saved on this set – a nail collection that should be over £100, and a whopping £96 saving!  Strokes of luck like this do not come around every day, and the good news is that you do not have to be an O2 Priority customer to take advantage of this amazing offer!

For more about this collection & what colours you get, and to grab a beauty bargain, head over to the Nails Inc site here!

Nothing beats the feeling of getting your hands on a product you’ve being eyeing up for ages. I had a few hallelujah moments on a recent shopping trip.

First of all I re-stocked on my favourite foundation of all time, Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation. This is extremely easy to apply with my trusty Real Techniques stippling brush and it delivers a lit from within healthy glow without streaking or showing tell-tale orange lines. Being pale skinned, the best shade for me is 20 Watts. Yes, being a radiance enhancing foundation, it’s shades are named after light bulb wattages, very appropriate. The darker the shade, the higher the wattage number.

I’m also a fan of Make-up Revolution, that offer cutting edge innovations in make-up without the professional price tag, and their products are available at Superdrug! My most recent addition to my Revolution palette haul is the Hard Day Eyeshadow palette. There’s 18 neutral and smoky shades, 12 of which are shimmer and the other 6 matte. The colours look super versatile and wearable for any occasion, with this line up, I’m already dreaming up my next evening smoky eye look!

Recently, I’ve been drawn to metallic “lip toppers” that can be worn alone or over your favourite lipstick to create a velvet matte, shimmery finish to your pout. Having fallen in love with the Lime Crime Diamond Crushers, I have also invested in Kiko’s Lip Top Coat. It’s exclusive application wand rolls the product onto your lips to deliver smooth, satin-y shine in seconds.

Unlike Lime Crime’s Diamond Crushers, the Kiko Lip Top Coat is quite fluid and watery in consistency and has to be shaken up before you apply it to mix the shimmer.

Essie are one of the best brands for an unlimited variety of bright, on trend colours. I must own tons of Essie’s bestselling shades. My two recent additions for spring are Lots of Lux, which is a shimmering lapiz blue with a superfine matte glitter finish and Jewel In The Crown, which is a very bright, modern and edgy plum with shimmer that looks fuchsia in some lights.

Revolution Haul!

Those of you that enjoy reading my beauty related posts will know I am a big fan of the TAM beauty brand Revolution. Fairly new to drugstores, the London brand regularly run out of stock… in a good way. A lot of their professional quality Eyeshadow palettes are the closest dupes to a lot of the more expensive “holy grail” palettes on the market. Neutrals vs New-trals, a 16-shade eye palette is currently sold out on the website, this gem is almost identical to Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance eye palette. If you’re after this palette, but the £32 ($42) price tag is daunting, Neutrals vs Neutrals from Revolution is your new best friend, and for a sixth of the price!

Revolution Neutrals vs New-trals

Having been eyeing up many of Revolution’s offerings on their website recently, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their newest launch: Flawless 3: Resurrection Pro 32 Eye Palette. Beautifully finished off with rose-gold packaging and boasting a large mirror inside, Flawless 3 is the best spring eye make-up collection yet. It’s packed with plenty of lustrous matte and shimmer shades that range from super versatile everyday neutrals to bolder coral shades and berry tones. I thought I would have to order this online but managed to get it in Superdrug. I’m in love with all of the shades and can’t wait to really get experimenting with this!

Revolution Flawless 3: Resurrection Eye Palette

Another Revolution palette I bought recently and have been loving for everyday is the Ultra Eye Contour Light And Shade. I used to avoid matte eyeshadows, but what these lack in shimmer they make up for in their wearability. This is well worth a try if you want to create a contoured eye make-up look and add definition to the creases and socket lines of your eyes to add natural looking definition. Using a lighter shade as a base and a darker shade around the socket line and crease is an easy way to master 2017’s cut-crease eye make-up trend.

Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light And Shade Palette

I’ve gotten into the swing of using matte eyeshadows so much so I have also invested in the Flawless Matte Pro 32 eyeshadows too, and I am amazed by the diversity of the shades. Matte doesn’t have to mean flat!

NYX are another one of my favourite brands. Tame & Frame brow pomades are a recent discovery for me. Having used a pencil from Eyeko for my brows for ages, I thought I’d try something different. Tame & Frame are small pots of ultra soft wax formulated to help shape and define your brows. This non-sticky, easy to use product comes in several shades, from blonde to black (I’m currently using Espresso, a dark brown). Highly recommend if you’ve ever found yourself filling in because you got a bit tweezer happy! NYX #19 angled brush works wonders at sweeping the wax in the direction of natural hairs.

Maybelline have had a few newcomers recently. A sucker for a good highlighter, I discovered the all new Strobe Liquid. It’s a liquid illuminator great for highlighting and strobing that I think is very similar to Benefit’s High Beam or Mac’s Strobe Cream, which are a lot pricier.

High street stores have seen a massive drop of goodies you just cannot miss out on if you are a make-up and beauty junkie.

Nail polish that would normally cost between £11 and £15 has turned up in… Poundland. Yes, a premium product is being sold in pound stores!

Nails Inc goodies on sale at… Poundland!

Nails Inc recently re-designed their bottle shape to rectangular bottles. Nails Inc, fearing the stock in the old style cylinder bottles won’t sell, have gifted them to Poundland to sell for less than a quarter of their price. This is good news if you are a sucker for a good quality nail product. Several colours are on sale for just £1, including Maddox Street, a frosted black, Chelsea Physic Garden, a very Chanel like pastel blue shade perfect for spring, Galaxy Effect Glitter, Fibre Optic Glitter, Kensington Caviar Base Coat and Gel Effect Top Coat. Due to being put into plastic packaging and hung up some of the polishes may have separated, but upon shaking the ones I picked up, I found that the formula re-coagulated and it didn’t make a difference to their quality.

Some of the Nails Inc bargains I landed, here I was wearing Chelsea Physic Garden with Fitzroy Square Special Effects Glitter as a feature nail.  Others photographed are Galaxy Effect in Knightsbridge Road and Fibre Optic Effect in Belgravia Place.

Metallic nails are a big trend for spring, with Barry M recently extending their range of Molten Metal Nail Paints.

Holographic Lights is the best of them all if you want to master an iridescent manicure, it’s a whitish silver that packs plenty of rainbow multi chrome. Pink Ice is the perfect Rose Gold shade, while Blue Glacier is the most serene watercolour blue amped up with shimmer.  The darkest of the new shades is Black Diamond, a classic black that is lit from within by loads of microfine silver sparkle, it isn’t dissimilar in shade or finish to Silver Lining.  The collection features two expensive looking copper shades, Copper Mine and Bronze Bae, while Gold Digger is the ultimate 24K gold.

Barry M are currently doing a 2 for £7 offer in Boots stores, good news if you’ve fallen in love with more than one of these shades! My favourites are Pink Ice, Blue Glacier and Bronze Bae.

Mascara maestros Maybelline New York have bought out some of the best mascaras I have ever used and a lot of their formulas rival those of a high-end brand. Their latest addition to their Colossal family is the golden tubed Colossal Big Shot, which guarantees fully loaded volume and definition onto natural lashes in just one sweep.  Lash like a boss!

Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Mascara

Another exciting mascara launch is Rommel London’s innovative new Volume Shake Mascara.  Volume Shake features the all new “shaker” inside its tube that enables the formula to be refreshed when it is needed. No more lacklustre lashes!

Innovation in mascara: Rimmel are the first to release a mascara with in built shaker system to refresh the formula when needed.

Meanwhile, glossy lips may be a top trend for this year but matte lips are going to stick around a lot longer too.   I am a massive fan of the NYX Liquid Suede and Soft Matte Lip Creams, I am a collector I must admit!  One of the newest lip care launches on the market is Lip Oil.  More fluid and more nourishing than balm, lip oils are rich in ingredients essential to maintaining hydrated and healthy lips.  Investing in a lip oil is a must if you want your matte liquid lipsticks to glide on effortlessly and stay smooth all day, it’s your weapon against the dreaded matte lip crack!

130 million girls won’t go to school today. Not because they don’t want to, but because they are not given the chance to.

Stopping a girl accessing an education robs a woman of the chance to equip herself with everything she needs to take the world in her stride.
