June is here, which officially means it’s the start of the summer. Exciting. Festival fever will soon be upon us, which means dropping those dull winter warmers in favour of some sizzling hot trends which ooze boho glamour.

Taste the rainbow and get summer party ready in these succulent multicolour Sophia Webster sandals. These beauties are so irresistible they should really come with an envy warning!

Fluorescent pom-poms and tassels are big news and will take the festival fashion scene by storm this summer, be they on wedges or flats. An unlikely comeback that’s cool, colourful and a little eccentric, this trend is a festival in itself.

Block heels meet block colour, with plenty of ditzy tassel detailing, pom-poms and laces to add an element of Coachella cool. Not only are these Aquazzura offerings easy to walk in they tick every 2017 style box. Eye catching and comfortable, you really can have the best of both worlds!

Rebecca Minkoff’s relaxed yet vivid vibe is going right in my beach bag this summer!

Some rather exciting happenings sparkled over Wall Street in New York this week, an event tipped to have been the most glamorous and bold fashion show of the year.  If you’re not celebrating overrated Bonfire Night and have decided on an alternative treat… you’re in for a rather glitzy one if you set foot in H&M; today marks the start of the high-street store’s Balmainia!  By that I mean a rather artsy collaboration with French designer Balmain…

Put the date in your diary & don’t forget to fash-tag #Balmaination on Twitter & Instagram!

Kendall Jenner played a sterling part in the H&M x Balmain advertising campaign which was filmed aboard a subway train and also opened the mega launch of the collection in an alluring black and gold ensemble.

Kendall wowed the crowds as she opened the New York event to introduce this exciting collection.

H&M are renowned for their famous collaborations with numerous designers such as Jimmy Choo, Matthew Williamson and Lanvin.  This collection, however has to be the edgiest most glam collaboration yet, their offerings were popular amongst star attendees of the event, which was attended by Gigi Hadid, Kendall and Kylie, Lewis Hamilton, Ellie Goulding and entertainment was provided by newly reformed band The Backstreet Boys, who all looked dapper in H&M x Balmain menswear.

This monochrome art deco style dress will be just one of the key pieces of the AW15 Balmaination!  Looks amazing on Gigi!

The Backstreet Boys get well into the spirit of Balmainia!

Balmainia at H&M is excellent news for fans of the designer waiting for a diffusion line and what’s more, the pieces are near identical to their pricier predecessors.

Balmain fan Kendall’s Billboard Music Awards look can be yours at H&M!

Plenty of black, gold, monochrome and flattering jewel tones make up this collection, which will be excellent for those of you on the hunt for that perfect Christmas Day or New Year Dress.  I can’t wait to see this collection come to life in a H&M store near me!

On 23 October 2014, the diverse style universe was born!

I had the name Fashalia in my head for ages and blogging for me was a natural progression, having contributed freelance to product review sites and having been a published writer since my teens.

I simply combined my love of all things style and beauty with my creative writing and put together a WordPress site.  12 months on it has gone from strength to strength and continues to be read in over 100 countries and more recently I’ve took to bringing product and outfit reviews on YouTube.  Thank you to everyone who’s tuned into my channel.

I’m so proud of the amazing things #Fashalia101 has achieved in the space of 12 months; this summer it won 2 online international awards in a week!  Thank you to everyone who nominated me for the Lavender and Sisterhood of the World Blogger Awards!  More recently I’ve been added to the list of Top Bloggers on Twitter so I’m on such an impressed high right now, thank you to everyone who visits #Fashalia101!

Feel Good Friday: What’s Got Me Excited This Weekend?

Today I dug out my Music Rising T-shirt from Dublin’s Hard Rock Café and proceeded with the late summer ritual that is the blackberry pick.  Got a ton of thorn pricks and juicy hands but it’s the type of therapeutic fun that makes you lose track of time for a while, before you know it you’ve got a lovely basket of black-forest goodness that’s delicious in a fruit crumble!  If you haven’t heard of Music Rising, they’re a good-cause born out of Hurricane Katrina 10 years ago, Music Rising’s mission was to replace musical instruments for musicians who lost theirs in the hurricane in New Orleans in 2005.  The Edge from U2 is very much involved in this initiative and New Orleans is slowly getting there with the regeneration of buildings and places that were devastated when disaster struck a decade ago.

Online I’ve been browsing the latest trends and beauty collections for AW15, MAC’s new collections have me excited, especially their new Veluxe A Trois collection.  Veluxe A Trois is mainly made up of trios of MAC’s silky Pearlfusion eyeshadows in a cute little compact, hence the name.  Limited edition, velvety Cremesheen Lipsticks are also part of the collection and there’s some pretty awesome Cremesheen Lipglasses, too!  Hot pink lovers, check out Cremesheen Lipstick in Flowerscope!  You can see the full collection on the website of MAC, http://www.maccosmetics.com.

River Island, New Look and H&M are all warming up for the cosiest, yet most stylish Fall yet and I already have my eye on a few key high-street pieces sure to fly off the rails.  Biker jackets with a fur trim seem to be the new “it coat,” with RI offering a variety of leather and faux fur colours.  Green isn’t normally a colour I’d go for in a winter jacket, but the teal number is a beauty!  These are just two of the lovelies available at River Island in store or online for £65…

On the designer front, it hasn’t half been an innovative year for Louis Vuitton, who’ve branched out into the wonders of the logo-twistlock on their chain-handled bags, a la Chanel.  I always pictured the classic LV bag to be a zipped affair adorned with a print of the signature logo, but in this case, LV have sent their logo to work!  Apparently, you twist the L on the top flap to line up with the V to open them.  A variety of sizes, patterns and colours have been released, however, non-fussy, subdued denim blue remains my favourite of the bunch!  As rocked by Beyoncé!

If you’re a fan of the timeless glamour a chain strap handbag brings, Valentino’s 2015 offerings will secure your look plenty of rock-chick luxe with their shimmering golden rock-studs…

You’ll be spoilt for choice of colours and prints with these gorgeous arm candies; Plain colour, block colour, combat print or even leopard print!

Walk on the wild side!

And on that note…

Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award : WINNER!

Accessories, Beauty & Fragrance, Celebrations, Celebrities, Fashion, Popular Culture, Retail, Style Hunting, Travel

Thank you to Veenazkit https://veenazkit.wordpress.com for this amazing award; it’s such an honour to win the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award which recognises the voice of women bloggers around the world!  This is an exciting accolade for Fashalia101, in the same week as being nominated for the Lavender Award.

Ten questions about Fashalia101 & my favourite things… answered!

1. What inspired you to start blogging?

Seeing the many styles in the city which I live and the surrounding areas. I have lived here for years, however it’s only as I’ve got older I’ve come to appreciate the overall culture, vibe and style here.

 2. What is the title of your very first post and the date?  My very first post was an intro to Fashalia101, it was titled “Fashalia101: New Blog,” and it was posted on October 23, 2014.

3. Would you give a positive review to a non-deserving product? If yes, on what conditions?
I wouldn’t give a product a bad review if my family and friends were raving about it and it was just me that thought it was rubbish. If my opinion was outnumbered I would focus on all the positive attributes and give it a good review, respecting peoples’ opinions at the same time, not everyone will like something you like and vice versa.

4. What is your dream high-end fashion brand you’d like to buy at the moment?

Chanel. Chanel do amazing accessories, classic handbags especially. I’ve been looking at the new Le Boy bags, but don’t know if and when I’ll ever get one!

It’s easy to see why Chanel is thought of as the best of the best by many a star, the Le Boy bags have been as much of a hit as the iconic 2.55!

5. Rate yourself in photography?

My photography ? Good , some photos could be better , however, photography content and quality depends on my post.

6. How many hours a day do you give to your blogging?

I spend 3 to 4 hours a day on Fashalia101.

7. Current favourite face wash you are using?

La Roche Posay Physiological Cleansing Gel has always been a favourite face wash.  It’s so good at cleansing away impurities and make up without causing redness or dryness.

8. How many lipsticks do you own?

I own 21 lipsticks at the moment , if you count lip glosses/balms, it could be 30!

They’re a little luxury I keep buying!  My favourite bright pink for summer is L’oreal Colour Riche in 288 intense Fuchsia and my ultimate nude has to be L’oreal Collection Privee in Julieanne’s Nude.

Most recently I’ve been loving Maybelline’s ColorSensational Elixir in Caramel Infused, a pinky-nude that isn’t too pale.

9. Your favourite eyeliner style?

My favourite line is a winged look for easy evening glamour.

10. The most expensive make-up product you own?

My most expensive product in my make-up bag is currently MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder which is £23.00.

As you can see, it gets some use! Its highlighting abilities are out of this world!
I hoped you enjoyed reading about what inspires me and I nominate 10 people for this exciting award.
