Indulge in all the deliciousness of French patisseries this SS17, without all the calories… oui oui!

You won’t be able to resist six sweet Essie shades that will keep your mouth watering all summer long.

Inspired by all the glittering confections of the finest Parisian cafes, the S’il Vous Play collection will take you on a whimsical journey through the chic streets of the city of style, decadence and love with soft pastels and a shimmering metallic that is absolutely delectable.

Anything with a Parisian theme or style has always drawn me in, and I know I’m not the only one attracted to the kitsch wanderlust of the city of lights.  Seeing this Essie collection is making me crave macarons, maintenant…

This soft iridescent sugar white will have you licking your lips all the way to the confiserie!

An irresistible lilac cream inspired by the tastiest macarons dans la Rue!

An unforgettable lavender pink foil that will remind you of the most frosty cake icing and the sweet namesake of this collection.  I’ll take the petit gateau avec Glacage Rose s’il vous plait!

Tres fondant of this sparkling apricot marmalade shade!

Romantic rose candy cream that will evoke all the passion of the city of love.

The prettiest pastel Parisian blue that says casual summer all over it!

I discovered Too Faced Melted Metal liquid lipsticks the other day and couldn’t be happier with the formula and shade variety.

The 90’s foiled statement pout has made a comeback in the form of lustrous liquified metal.

Melted Metal is a multi faceted lip colour like you’ve never seen before.  It’s velvet smooth applicator makes light work of gliding on creamy metallic shine  that coats lips in fresh bursts of glazed colour without the sticky, heavy feel of similar liquid lipsticks.

Debutante (far left) has to be my favourite shade.  A neutral peach that isn’t as coral-y on as it looks in the tube.

National Lipstick Day!

I didn’t know there was a national day for all things lippy until this morning, and if you’re after that new shade you’ve wanted to try or want to stock up on your favourites, what better day to do so than National Lipstick Day!

Right now I’m a fan of Sexy Mother Pucker lipsticks from Soap & Glory.  Generally I’m into all things S&G but I have always loved their cosmetics line, especially their lipsticks and glosses.

I love the pinks and nudes in their lipstick collection, the metallic tubes, too, are out of this world.  The ultimate nude for me has to be the matte 5th Avenude, I also like Rosy Chic which is a matte pink shade. Super Nude and Barely Pinking are two others I also love.  Soap & Glory have provided a range of finishes for ther lipsticks too, mattes, satins and shines make-up the variety available at most large Boots stores.  I’d say the price range is a little more expensive than the average high street lippy but not high-end priced as they retail for £9.  I’m really tempted to try some of the other pinks.  Soap & Glory sure know a good pink!

Be sure to share your favourites on Twitter & Instagram & tag #NationalLipstickDay 💄

To get your pink fix, why not check out the amazing Soap & Glory website, where you can see their whole lipstick collection!

Today I thought I’d bring you all an insight into one of my all time favourite drugstore beauty brand, Soap & Glory.

By far this is the most fun, fearless and fabulous British beauty brands and many of their wonder products are available online and at Boots stores.  With the festive season a fortnight away, S&G know more than a thing or two about gift-sets, incorporating the newest innovations in beauty, cosmetics and skincare into all of their Christmas goodies and spreading the same magic all year round.

I’ve never had a Soap & Glory product that hasn’t lived up to it’s promise and I’ve always been impressed with their cosmetic range.

They make excellent use of the best ingredients in their products whether it’s a shower gel, body butter or face primer, and they know how to achieve the perfect balance of explaining the science behind product formula and wowing the brand’s many users with their catchy product names, edgy packaging and a little humour.  If someone was to ask me my no. 1 favourite British drugstore brand, Soap & Glory would win the title.

After watching several of these videos on YouTube I decided to review and describe some of my own favourite lipsticks from MAC.  I hope this video helps you if you’re on the quest for the ultimate nude or dusky rose, shades MAC do so well!

Lipstick is one of the products that made MAC famous and a favourite with many stars around the globe.  Had to laugh yesterday when I got mistaken for someone who worked on the MAC counter!  I was wearing a lot of black, probably what fooled them.

My birthday’s in four days, I don’t want to think about being another year older (I’ll give you a clue, a number unlucky for some times by two!) but I’m generally looking forward to it and yesterday I treated myself to Viva Glam II and Honeylove.  If you’re looking for the perfect nude lipstick, look no further than those two!

In the coming days and weeks I can feel a gift guide or two coming on, before I wrap them all! Exciting times!

Feel Good Friday: 5 Food Inspired Beauty Treats For SS15

2015 Trends, Beauty & Fragrance, Colours, Discontinued products, Fashion, Nails, Popular Culture, Uncategorized

Ever looked at an eyeshadow palette or nail polish shade and morphed it into delicious confectionery in your head? Same here! The majority of high-end and high-street make-up treats from the likes of Benefit and Too Faced are designed to exude the “good enough to eat” sensation to tempt beauty addicts into splurging on a new eyeshadow collection, lipgloss or nail polish coffret.
Ornate presentation inside bespoke packaging secures continuous popular demand for products such as…

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette, £39.00, Debenhams:

Yes, we thought this motley crew of wearable neutrals for the eyes was a bar of Cadbury’s from the front, then we took off the wrapper and revealed it’s limitless eye-contouring capabilities and ability to create a natural looking smoky eye.

You’d be forgiven for mistaking Bourjois Delice De Poudre (Bronzing Powder), £7.99, Boots, for a bar of chocolate! With an ultra soft texture, you can have a natural looking glow minus the calories!
Last year OPI created the ultimate cool summer collection with their Coca Cola range of edgy, popping colours, each inspired by a popular fizzy can.

This has to be my favourite collection from OPI, with it’s gorgeous signature red (Coca Cola Red) and the ultimate silver (My Signature Is DC/Turn On The Haute Light).

Benefit Georgia blush, (£23.50, Boots/Debenhams/,
Just a dust of this suits-all powder across the apples of your cheeks will awaken a warm, healthy glow. This peaches-and cream complexion enhancer is often a sell-out on the Benefit Cosmetics web-site, but hey, who can resist a blusher resembling peaches and cream!

L’oreal Paris Glam Shine Miss Candy, which Boots and Superdrug ceased to sell, however you can still get your sugar fix at for a sweeter price! How could they discontinue these! Delicious swirls of shimmering, sugar-coated goodness for truly kissable pout perfection, from pretty pastels to bubble gum brights, you’ll be tempted by more than just one shade.
