Lace Jumpsuits, Embroidered Denim Jackets, Summer Espadrilles and the prettiest Floral Phone Cases make for the most feminine, playful July you’ve ever had!

Jumpsuit: Diane Von Furstenburg

Embroidered Denim Jacket: Alexander McQueen

Popping Pink Tote: D&G

Espadrilles with Fluoro stripes: Sophia Webster

Bright phone case: Casetify

Perfume: Marc Jacobs Oh Lola!

Roses & Sequins on this ultra glam Ashish jacket, the chic simplicity of an Ayton Gasson play suit and edgy Gucci block heels and a Vivienne Westwood envelope clutch make for the ultimate summer evening ensemble. Red, black and denim… classic colours with a twist!

The lace is on with this floaty Self Portrait jumpsuit. Keep it casual and playful for day with metallic espadrilles like these shiny ones from Saint Laurent. A classic quilted bag, like a Chanel 2.55 re-issue adds a touch of luxury with a vintage vibe, while a floriental fragrance like Gucci’s Bamboo, a velvet matte lip and a nude mani will tick all the beauty trend boxes without you looking too “done.”

After that explosive splash of colour from this jumpsuit and rather fun looking bag, you’re gonna need to calm it all down with a pair of Ugg wedges and a black biker from Saint Laurent. This too, will offset the eccentricity of such a bright ensemble, toning it down slightly, but not too much.
Playsuit: Topshop

Hot pink Chloe sandals and Chloe’s signature Drew crossbody bag in a similar pink hue will make this season’s pastel power pop!

This season’s cold shoulder, ruffed dresses pack in so much ditzy feminine detailing the best look to balance them out is to add a touch of brutality with the on-trend chunky metallic chokers and block heels to balance out such delicate frills.

Summer White meets film noir inspired accessories for an easily put together monochrome look that is sharp, polished, yet still boasts a touch of flirty playfulness thanks to the loosely cut frills on this off the shoulder Temperley dress.

A nautical, mermaid look can be amped up easily with SS17’s very interesting Miss Selfridge chokers, platforms by Salvatore Ferragamo and a chunky Gold Guess watch for a pop of instant beach bar glam.

SEA’s one shoulder dress has three trend boxes in one ticked: off the shoulder, ruffles and stripes! Making this work for a night out is as easy as slipping on the chicest of polished gold accessories and investing in timeless tan arm candy, don’t you just love the little bling ring on this Miu Miu bag!

Ease into this summer’s bohemian prints; plain accessories and a bang on trend envelope bag are a good way to mix n’ match with interesting patterns & tassels.

A black dress is a blank canvas – for absolutely any colour bag or any style of shoe. Everyone should own at least one black dress in their lifetime due to its ability to take you absolutely anywhere. From a loose casual day at the beach or mall to that ultra modern new bar in the evening, you can dress a black dress up or down!

Black, livened up with metallic heels & a pop of pink… instant chic. Modern, feminine, individual, this is one clash you can get away with!

There’s something magical about monochrome accessories.  What they lack in flavourful colour they make up for in polished, film noir sophistication that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into one of those black and white movies and met your screen icon role model.

Max up on the metallics – gold, silver, rose gold – for instant nighttime glitz that oozes sophistication.

Want a more bohemian, garden party vibe that doesn’t compromise on style? Good news, you can still rock a pair of gorgeous platforms like these Steve Madden beauties. Look for lace or ruffles for a relaxed take on the LBD and accessories that lean towards earthy tones, monogram and florals are fine as long as they’re not too OTT!

Break tradition with a rocky, rebellious twist on this look. Try layering a white tee underneath a black strappy dress or invest in this pre-layered R13 number. Accessory wise, think block heels, platforms, studs, snakeskin and chains.

Embroidered Bags…

Gucci, Fendi, and Dolce and Gabbana have all been rolling out crossbody bags adorned with delicately stitched embroidery recently. They add a pop of colour to any ensemble. The ones I found on Polyvore will have the dainty detailing trend down to a tee!

Embroidered accessories are a subtle yet playful way to accessorize a little black dress!

LBD, Metallic Shoes & Box Clutch: All D&G!

Ponchos & Oversized Scarves…

Oversized knits made with cosy wool have been the comfiest way to look stylish all winter.  Missoni, H&M and Zara, to name but a few, have some of the best cosy knits in various colours and patterns.  Be it a poncho or oversized scarf, it is just the investment to ensure you stay snug through the January freeze in style.

Offset a bold coloured knit with a dark outfit, classic accessories and neutral shades for nails and make up to avoid throwing your look back to the 70’s and 80’s, which were the original poncho heydays!

Oversized scarf, £14.99, H&M

“Badged Up” Denim Jeans…

Sewn on patches have been big news last year and will continue to stick around.  You don’t have to be a teenager or a youngster to appreciate this playful take on a classic casual look.

This is one of the most versatile trends of the season and you can even DIY it!  A lot of stores have sold some cool sew on patches for jeans and jackets, or if DIY isn’t your strong point, there are plenty of pre-patched styles available virtually everywhere!

Jeans with patches, £29.99, H&M, Jacket, £39.99, H&M, phone case, Skinnydip London

My favourite way to wear embellished jeans is to dress them for the weekend with a biker jacket, and a small or medium handbag.

Winter White Blazer…

White has been a popular hue for jackets and blazers this winter.  Not as frequently seen as the black biker or other styles, a white jacket or Blazer is one of the trends best paired with ripped jeans and a casual T-shirt or sweater underneath to avoid repeating a look of its tackier yesteryears.

Keeping accessories simple and make-up on the more neutral side will keep the look crisp, fresh and ready to take on 2017!

Fall and Winter setting in means more cosy nights in with comfort food, watching some great TV one-offs (or catch-up TV if you’ve been busy) and trying out some of the most tempting beauty treats…

The star of the show in Bobbi Brown’s Autumnal collection (above) is its 8 shade smokey eyeshadow palette which will remind you of a box of chocolates.  Those natural looking nail shades have the perfect balance of earthy freshness and wrapped up comfy-ness for the winter months, too!

Today the thing that got me excited was seeing Charli XCX’s limited edition redesigns of Impulse body spray.  Look out for plenty of hot pink on cans of Rock & Love and her racy kissing lips and autograph on Vanilla Kisses; they’re currently on sale at 97p each at Superdrug, which is better than half price!

Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Wonderfuel, £1.60 in Wilkinson stores

Continuing on the budget beauty trail, I’m a big fan of “oil-slick” or colour switch shimmer nail colours, I have been since trying the ultimate multichrome, Essie For The Twill Of It (Fall 2013).  Little wonder I am currently loving Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Wonderfuel.  It’s indigo purple with a heavy sky-blue shimmer.  There were only two bottles of Wonderfuel left in Wolverhampton the other day, it’s a definite sell-out!

Gucci Bamboo EDP, £68 for 50ml at Boots

If, like me, you look for an air of mystery in a fragrance, and your signature scent is floriental, you’ll love the powdery white florals in Gucci Bamboo.  This is the type of scent that evokes memories of being under the sunset in a favourite vacation spot.

It’s been all change for my hair this weekend… bye-bye beachy, sun kissed golden-brown, hello deep espresso.  I couldn’t think of a better  introduction to the cosy coffee months than L’oreal Mousse Absolue in 415 Iced Chocolate Brunette.  Mousse and foam style hair colours are much easier to achieve an all over coverage than conventional hair colours.  The beauty is the formula which means every bit is massaged in with little or no chance of mess or wastage.
