Sleek & polished with a touch of bohemian glamour, Chloe fringed sandals and a Haight coral one piece scream summer 2017! (Above)

Unleash some serious wanderlust on the beach and beyond wearing popping pinks and dreamy violets! A hot pink Forever Unique swimsuit with bang on trend lace detail paired with a sharp yet comfy wrap skirt will sizzle along the seafront.  A 3.1 Philip Lim mauve Pashli may induce envy amongst fellow holiday makers!  Brights are excellent at amplifying a golden tan, too!

Serene block colours & simple accessories never go out of date.  Look sleek yet mysterious in a deep ocean Diane Von Furstenburg one piece and Prada block sandals, while a pastel pink Kenzo tote will stylishly hold your essentials whilst adding a touch of feminine simplicity.

Spring through the palms in a D&G tropical bikini and accessorize with the coolest lime green sandals from Prada and a pair of aviators!

Chillax poolside in the dreamiest blues.  One piece swimsuits are big news, and are modest enough to be worn with this summer’s wrap skirts for some stunning summer evening looks.  Arcadia have some irresistible swimsuits and I just love this aquatic looking skirt from Fausto Puglisi!

Clean Lines & Monochrome stripes in the form of the ultimate Marc Jacobs maxi equals instant Beach to bar chic! Don’t forget to add a touch of sparkle, these Giuseppe Zanotti kitten heels are perfection!

Slip into this celestial River swimwear and a pair of mirrored Ray-Bans and unlock that inner mermaid!

Transition this sea foam shimmer swimsuit from River Island from sitting at the sea side to sipping cocktails outside! Add a tropical print wrap skirt like this Missoni beauty and a cross body bag in a cool hue like this one from Jimmy Choo.  And these designer look platforms are a steal from ASOS!

Summer brights & pastels inspired by sweetest, juiciest seaside treats! Ruffled dresses like this Anna October maxi are fresh off the catwalk! Amp it up with a juicy clutch from Commes Des Garçons and a pop of watermelon gloss on nails and lips!

Maxi up a midsummer’s night in a floor length Melissa Obadash dress that’s just peachy. Bling up a plain dress with a choker, the hottest boho glam jewellery trend of SS17.  Be daring, add an unexpected accessory like Judith Leiber’s crystal encrusted beach ball clutch.

Revolution Haul!

Those of you that enjoy reading my beauty related posts will know I am a big fan of the TAM beauty brand Revolution. Fairly new to drugstores, the London brand regularly run out of stock… in a good way. A lot of their professional quality Eyeshadow palettes are the closest dupes to a lot of the more expensive “holy grail” palettes on the market. Neutrals vs New-trals, a 16-shade eye palette is currently sold out on the website, this gem is almost identical to Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance eye palette. If you’re after this palette, but the £32 ($42) price tag is daunting, Neutrals vs Neutrals from Revolution is your new best friend, and for a sixth of the price!

Revolution Neutrals vs New-trals

Having been eyeing up many of Revolution’s offerings on their website recently, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their newest launch: Flawless 3: Resurrection Pro 32 Eye Palette. Beautifully finished off with rose-gold packaging and boasting a large mirror inside, Flawless 3 is the best spring eye make-up collection yet. It’s packed with plenty of lustrous matte and shimmer shades that range from super versatile everyday neutrals to bolder coral shades and berry tones. I thought I would have to order this online but managed to get it in Superdrug. I’m in love with all of the shades and can’t wait to really get experimenting with this!

Revolution Flawless 3: Resurrection Eye Palette

Another Revolution palette I bought recently and have been loving for everyday is the Ultra Eye Contour Light And Shade. I used to avoid matte eyeshadows, but what these lack in shimmer they make up for in their wearability. This is well worth a try if you want to create a contoured eye make-up look and add definition to the creases and socket lines of your eyes to add natural looking definition. Using a lighter shade as a base and a darker shade around the socket line and crease is an easy way to master 2017’s cut-crease eye make-up trend.

Revolution Ultra Eye Contour Light And Shade Palette

I’ve gotten into the swing of using matte eyeshadows so much so I have also invested in the Flawless Matte Pro 32 eyeshadows too, and I am amazed by the diversity of the shades. Matte doesn’t have to mean flat!

NYX are another one of my favourite brands. Tame & Frame brow pomades are a recent discovery for me. Having used a pencil from Eyeko for my brows for ages, I thought I’d try something different. Tame & Frame are small pots of ultra soft wax formulated to help shape and define your brows. This non-sticky, easy to use product comes in several shades, from blonde to black (I’m currently using Espresso, a dark brown). Highly recommend if you’ve ever found yourself filling in because you got a bit tweezer happy! NYX #19 angled brush works wonders at sweeping the wax in the direction of natural hairs.

Maybelline have had a few newcomers recently. A sucker for a good highlighter, I discovered the all new Strobe Liquid. It’s a liquid illuminator great for highlighting and strobing that I think is very similar to Benefit’s High Beam or Mac’s Strobe Cream, which are a lot pricier.

What’s New In Beauty Wednesday…

High street stores have seen a massive drop of goodies you just cannot miss out on if you are a make-up and beauty junkie.

Nail polish that would normally cost between £11 and £15 has turned up in… Poundland. Yes, a premium product is being sold in pound stores!

Nails Inc goodies on sale at… Poundland!

Nails Inc recently re-designed their bottle shape to rectangular bottles. Nails Inc, fearing the stock in the old style cylinder bottles won’t sell, have gifted them to Poundland to sell for less than a quarter of their price. This is good news if you are a sucker for a good quality nail product. Several colours are on sale for just £1, including Maddox Street, a frosted black, Chelsea Physic Garden, a very Chanel like pastel blue shade perfect for spring, Galaxy Effect Glitter, Fibre Optic Glitter, Kensington Caviar Base Coat and Gel Effect Top Coat. Due to being put into plastic packaging and hung up some of the polishes may have separated, but upon shaking the ones I picked up, I found that the formula re-coagulated and it didn’t make a difference to their quality.

Some of the Nails Inc bargains I landed, here I was wearing Chelsea Physic Garden with Fitzroy Square Special Effects Glitter as a feature nail.  Others photographed are Galaxy Effect in Knightsbridge Road and Fibre Optic Effect in Belgravia Place.

Metallic nails are a big trend for spring, with Barry M recently extending their range of Molten Metal Nail Paints.

Holographic Lights is the best of them all if you want to master an iridescent manicure, it’s a whitish silver that packs plenty of rainbow multi chrome. Pink Ice is the perfect Rose Gold shade, while Blue Glacier is the most serene watercolour blue amped up with shimmer.  The darkest of the new shades is Black Diamond, a classic black that is lit from within by loads of microfine silver sparkle, it isn’t dissimilar in shade or finish to Silver Lining.  The collection features two expensive looking copper shades, Copper Mine and Bronze Bae, while Gold Digger is the ultimate 24K gold.

Barry M are currently doing a 2 for £7 offer in Boots stores, good news if you’ve fallen in love with more than one of these shades! My favourites are Pink Ice, Blue Glacier and Bronze Bae.

Mascara maestros Maybelline New York have bought out some of the best mascaras I have ever used and a lot of their formulas rival those of a high-end brand. Their latest addition to their Colossal family is the golden tubed Colossal Big Shot, which guarantees fully loaded volume and definition onto natural lashes in just one sweep.  Lash like a boss!

Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Mascara

Another exciting mascara launch is Rommel London’s innovative new Volume Shake Mascara.  Volume Shake features the all new “shaker” inside its tube that enables the formula to be refreshed when it is needed. No more lacklustre lashes!

Innovation in mascara: Rimmel are the first to release a mascara with in built shaker system to refresh the formula when needed.

Meanwhile, glossy lips may be a top trend for this year but matte lips are going to stick around a lot longer too.   I am a massive fan of the NYX Liquid Suede and Soft Matte Lip Creams, I am a collector I must admit!  One of the newest lip care launches on the market is Lip Oil.  More fluid and more nourishing than balm, lip oils are rich in ingredients essential to maintaining hydrated and healthy lips.  Investing in a lip oil is a must if you want your matte liquid lipsticks to glide on effortlessly and stay smooth all day, it’s your weapon against the dreaded matte lip crack!

SS17 Trend Alert…

Gingham. That checkered pattern long associated with summer days in the school yard wearing a floaty dress. New Look’s latest offerings have, however, grown up and left the playground behind.

Tie-up ankle heeled sandals, £32.99

Monochrome and the occasional smattering of scattered floral embroidery have breathed a new lease of life into this summer classic. New Look’s drop of uber sleek tops, shoes and accessories will add instant chic to any spring look without the childhood throwback; who remembers their school summer dress…?

Black & white gingham clear anorak, £39.99

Black & white gingham floral embroidered mules, £25.99

Gingham strap watch, £14.99

Bell sleeve check top, £22.99

Light blue gingham Bardot style top, 17.99

Combinations of blue and white and red and white check are also big news for SS17, with the pattern varying in size from chunky checks down to ditzy detailing.

Black & white gingham tie front mini-skirt, £17.99

Rose embroidered frill trim shirt, £22.99

Blue & white gingham lace trim Bardot style top, £15.99

Red & white gingham lace trim cold-shoulder top, £15.99

Red & white gingham check print flat shoes, £12.99

Gingham check frill trim top, £19.99

It’s only March but I’ve already seen the checks making their way onto the high street, and cannot wait to pick up some of these irresistible pieces. This is a timeless pattern and doesn’t just remind me of summer school uniform, but of those oilcloth table settings at fish and chip shops, the sort of kitsch eateries that line the seafront at my favourite British seaside resorts.  Summer memories.

Make-up Monday… 24k Gold Eyes & More!

As a self confessed eye-palette junkie, when I heard Maybelline were launching another “Nudes” offering, I squealed with excitement inside.

I can’t wait to get my hands on their new 24k Nudes palette, a 12-strong collection of shimmery neutrals, bronzes and smoky shades that work great together.

Whatever your eye colouring, a look that ticks all the beauty trend boxes awaits you inside this golden palette.

Having just rolled into large Boots stores, I predict this is one high-street make-up gem that is sure to sell like hot cakes.  Maybelline’s other “Nudes” palettes are still very much sought after.

The Blushed Nudes, which many think is a dupe of Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette, boasts the richest selection of metallic rose gold shades and flesh-toned neutrals.  Possibly the closest high-street copy of Naked 3!

Maybelline also came out with The Rock Nudes, an offering of bright metallics and smoky shades to ensure your boldest, baddest smoky eye look steals the show!

I wouldn’t have called these shades Nudes, but I can’t think of any high-end palette that comes close to this collection of smoky-eye essentials, there’s no comparison.

That’s not all… Maybelline have everyone’s smoky-eye need covered, making sure to roll out The Smokes, too.  If you want to achieve a smouldering look that’s not shimmery, this is the one for you!

Maybelline 24k Nudes, Blushed Nudes, Rock Nudes & The Smokes palettes retail at £9.99 in Boots stores

Being as I’m about to embark on a weekend away, I thought I would share with you some essential tips on travelling light.  It’s not easy to do when you think about all of the things you can’t leave the house without, but one of the things I think is genius is swapping your generic 100-200ml product bottles for their mini me’s!

Thank you Topshop for leading me to discover edgy London based accessory brand Skinnydip London. I’ve seen a lot of people toting one of your futuristic clutch bags and dressing up their smartphones with the sleekest, most sparkly cases around; my favourite is clear adorned with cerise glittery flamingos!
If you like edgy, beetlejuice shimmer, plenty of glitter and pop-tastic finishing touches check out their web site

Skinnydip London Hannah crossbody bag adorned with their Plushie stickers, which come individually as initials or in sticker packs, can also be used to personalise your smartphone case!

Skinnydip London work closely with LA based NastyGal and they sure know a little Liquid Sarcasm goes a long way!

I love how Skinnydip aren’t afraid to experiment with cool shapes and structures for party bags with a difference!

Love the Pinnata cosmetic bag! (Above)

Amongst my beauty favourites this month are LA nail brand ORLY.  I just love their variety of bold colours, and I’m loving a few Essence Cosmetics goodies too!

Essence Mini Lipgloss set which contains 3 wearable for all shades, is perfect for fitting into a small bag, The Gel nail polishes in A Whisper Of Spring and On Air! Are amongst my favourites, and I just love the mini nail polishes ORLY do, especially Oui and Purple Crush!

Talking of beauty favourites, I’m also looking forward to sampling the offerings of new MAC Viva Glam spokeswoman for 2016, Ariana Grande; if the pop-star’s signature dark berry lip is a little risque for you, rest assured her range for MAC also includes shimmering pinky nude Lipglass.

My favourite weekend look was Saturday night’s ensemble of my Wallis black polka-dot vest tank top which has bows and cut out detailing to the back, with a multi layer statement necklace by Freedom at Topshop.

Album of the month for me is David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, like any other British music fan I can’t believe such an iconic legend who inspired a lot of people is no longer with us, I’m sure his legacy will live on and continue to inspire those who love his music and individual style.  Thank you Bowie, for such an incredible gift x
