As Summer 2017 slowly begins to transition into Autumn 2017, you are more than likely to be thinking about re-introducing those winter warmers back into your closet. But transitioning seasons is tricky, what does one wear when it’s too cool for frilly summer dresses and too warm for thick knits? Luckily, some of the top trends of late will see you through the last dregs of Summer and the beginning of early Autumn. Denim dresses are big news, and floral printed jackets have made an unexpected appearance, so forget covering up with that old jumper! Flats and heels in jewel tones and velvet bags add pops of colour and compliment these simple, jean hued dresses in the most beautiful way…

Make-up Monday…

There are several new beauty launches for summer 2017, and you won’t be able to resist their spellbinding appeal!

I would just love a set of metallic, gradient mermaid or unicorn make-up brushes. There are a lot of brands bringing out their own versions of mermaid tail brushes or pearly finished ones that resemble a unicorn’s horn.

A fan of Hoola bronzer, I am excited Benefit have bought out Hoola Lite, if you’re fair skinned and have a job achieving a natural tan on your face, Hoola Lite is the bronzer that guarantees a healthy natural looking glow for pale complexions.

Something fairly new is Anese Gotta Peace Out Hair & Body Elixir. This is a genius multi-use formation that is enriched with natural Glycerin, Aloe Vera and coconut Neroli water which boasts a plethora of benefits for hair and skin. Mist some Gotta Peace Out over your hair to refresh your mane and add hydration or spritz some onto your face before applying your make-up to minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines and to ensure a dewy look.

I’m a sucker for a good highlighter, Stila’s Heaven’s Hue delivers instant radiance with a unique texture and a barely there feel. Transcendence boasts opalescent pink glimmer for the most ethereal glow.

Stila’s magic making doesn’t stop there… they’ve compiled Matte n’ Metal; your most loved neutral eyeshadow hues in one stunning palette! There’s not one shade in this irresistible collection of velvety mattes and sparkling shimmers that wouldn’t be worn.

There are tons of rainbow highlighters about at the minute, Tarte’s multicoloured highlighter packs plenty of pearly magic to get your strobing game on point!

I love Too Faced Melted liquid lipsticks, especially the metal shades, my favourite has to be Debutante, a coral toned pink with loads of shimmer.

Serene block colours & simple accessories never go out of date.  Look sleek yet mysterious in a deep ocean Diane Von Furstenburg one piece and Prada block sandals, while a pastel pink Kenzo tote will stylishly hold your essentials whilst adding a touch of feminine simplicity.

Chillax poolside in the dreamiest blues.  One piece swimsuits are big news, and are modest enough to be worn with this summer’s wrap skirts for some stunning summer evening looks.  Arcadia have some irresistible swimsuits and I just love this aquatic looking skirt from Fausto Puglisi!

Transition this sea foam shimmer swimsuit from River Island from sitting at the sea side to sipping cocktails outside! Add a tropical print wrap skirt like this Missoni beauty and a cross body bag in a cool hue like this one from Jimmy Choo.  And these designer look platforms are a steal from ASOS!

Summer brights & pastels inspired by sweetest, juiciest seaside treats! Ruffled dresses like this Anna October maxi are fresh off the catwalk! Amp it up with a juicy clutch from Commes Des Garçons and a pop of watermelon gloss on nails and lips!

Maxi up a midsummer’s night in a floor length Melissa Obadash dress that’s just peachy. Bling up a plain dress with a choker, the hottest boho glam jewellery trend of SS17.  Be daring, add an unexpected accessory like Judith Leiber’s crystal encrusted beach ball clutch.

Maybelline New York have many exciting new launches just in time for Spring & Summer 2017…

You won’t be able to resist the all new Baby Lips balm crayons, their first colour crayon infused with moisturising oils that combine creamy, crisp colour and twelve hour hydration – and all in sleek, a twist-up stick!

If you love a good eye make-up look and like to experiment with different looks, you’ll fall in love with the City Minis palettes.  Each City Mini features six vivid shades that are perfect for creating custom eye make-up looks.

Six highly pigmented palettes are available from street inspired Grafitti Pop shades to hazy Rooftop Bronzes and Chill Brunch Neutrals, to Urban Jungle olives and sparkly Girls Night Glimmer, City Minis have all your smoky Eye wishes covered!

For a pop of colour and a healthy glow, Master Blush is a beautifully curated collection of blush and highlighter shades in a versatile palette.  For vibrant and dimensional cheeks, Master Blush by Maybelline Facestudio features 3 blush shades and a pearlescent highlighter which allows you to blush your own way.

If you are looking to enhance or refine your cheekbones and want to speed up contouring, Facestudio brings you Master Contour V-Shape Duo stick. This is Maybelline’s first 2-in-1 stick that has been absolutely raved about! The 2 coloured twist-up bullet makes light work of contouring. Simply use the darker bronze side to define then illuminate with the highlighting side. Easy, peasy!

This is an already much loved phenomenon, thanks to it’s creamy matte texture that delivers a sculpted look that lasts all day.

Not everyone is lucky enough to be blessed with a naturally perfect complexion, and if you seldom get blemishes, count yourselves very lucky indeed!  Those of us not so lucky never underestimate the power of a good concealer to camouflage our way to that insta-perfect canvas.  Enter Master Camo, a six-strong concealer palette that focuses on colour correcting.  Master Camo makes saying goodbye to redness, dark circles and dull areas possible thanks to the innovative colour correcting technique, once only reserved for make-up artists.

Master Camo puts all the tools you need to correct, conceal and highlight in a New York minute in your hands!  The green shade is designed to neutralise areas of redness while the yellow shade will brighten tired looking under eye circles away.

And on a final note, don’t forget your brows this summer! Every beauty buff knows your eyebrows are the coat hangers for your face! With that in mind, if you’re looking for one easy to use product that will fill, fix and tame brows at the same time, look no further than Maybelline’s Brow Drama Pomade Crayons.

The ultimate celebrity inspired sculpted brows can be yours in seconds by using this ultra blendable formula to fill in sparse areas of your brows and sketching in the direction of natural hairs.

Mani Monday: Instant Nail Trend…

2015 Trends, Accessories, Art, Beauty & Fragrance, Colours, Cosmetics Collections, DIY Health & Beauty, Fashion, How To's, Nails, Pattern & Print, Popular Culture, Retail, Style Hunting, Tips, Uncategorized

So today’s a rather wet bank holiday and some of you may have decided on a cosy day at home, can’t say I blame you!  I’m having an easy morning after a productive weekend of seeing family and friends and researching trends.

I’ve rediscovered the beauty phenomenon that is crackle effect nail polish.  The amount of great looks you can create is endless…
Models Own, Nails Inc, Avon, OPI and Barry M have all released their own crackle nail polishes.  A crackle manicure is so easy to achieve at home, just paint 1 or 2 coats of a normal nail colour, wait for this to dry and apply a coat of crackle nail polish on top, my pick is Barry M’s blue crackle.  The polish will crackle instantly in front of your very eyes!  To keep your masterpiece, wait a few minutes for your look to dry and apply a top coat, top coat is also good at sharpening the colour into high definition.

OPI Tomorrow Never Dies with Barry M blue Crackle Instant Nail Effects over the top!

Crackle nail polishes can be worn over any colour and they’re the least fiddly nail art to do, you don’t need any fine detail pens or brushes, so lower maintenance than some of the other nail art trends out there!

Avon’s crackle nail polishes are called Mosaic Effects

If you’re a nail art beginner, this is one quick, effortless trend you have to try!

Make up Mondays: Lip Launches That’ll Deliver Pout Perfection!

Accessories, Beauty & Fragrance, Celebrities, Fashion, Popular Culture, Style Hunting, Tips, Uncategorized

It may be Monday, it may be pouring it down, but I can safely say at the moment I love being a morning person!  I’m weirdly loving the idea of starting early and finishing early. Hitting the day’s goals before some people have even left the house is without a doubt, a novelty that will never wear off.  They say the early bird catches the worm and it’s definitely early birds that find out about the newest beauty discoveries!

Well excited about a new summer lip launch from Maybelline. Rebel Bouquet (Rebel Bloom in America!) is a family of crisp summery shades in the bestselling ColorSensational formula, I read in one UK glossy that Davina McCall is a big ColorSensational lipstick fan! These bang on trend but all-skintone friendly colours are the best wake up call for your complexion and a pop of colour is a sure fire way to cure the Monday blues!

Get in the nude to look natural, with a L’oreal Paris exclusive collection…
Another favourite of mine forever since they came out, has been L’oreal Paris star-inspired nude lipstick in which there is one for every skintone.  They couldn’t have come up with a better idea to help you find the right nude, because after all, no two people share the same skin or hair colouring, everyone’s unique.  Doutzen Kroes, Julianne Moore, Liya Kebede, Eva Longoria and Freida Pinto all played their part in launching the Collection Privee, made up of several different nude hues to give absolutely anyone the opportunity to rock au naturel!  These lot have to be the best nude lipsticks I’ve tried because in the past I’ve made the mistake of choosing sensible looking neutrals that, in truth, ended up being too pale on me, only achieving the sallow “washed out” look.

The golden undertones of Eva’s nude bring out the fiery undercurrents of brunette hair colours without making you look like you’re poorly!

No one can resist the temptation of Caramel Infused, the most sold-out of the Maybelline Colour Elixir family.  This sensible pink toned nude gets on with most skin tones and combines the colour pay off of a lipstick, the feel of a balm and the shine of a gloss without having to be the loudest of the bunch.

Kate Moss has once again teamed up with Rimmel London to bring to the high-street a collection of nudes, three of which flatter most skintones.  The best natural look is here for everyone in this range, that come in summery pastel beige tubes, a refreshing change to the black packaging on previous Kate collections.  And of course, every tube is stamped not only with Rimmel’s crown of approval but the supermodel’s signature too!

My bargain beauty hero this week is L’oreal Rouge Caresse lipstick in 501 Nude Ingenue, a balm-like lipstick that, as the name suggests delivers a veil of colour without looking or feeling heavy.  This was another lucky catch on my recent trip to the Factory Clearence store in Barmouth when I went to Wales.
