Indulge in all the deliciousness of French patisseries this SS17, without all the calories… oui oui!

You won’t be able to resist six sweet Essie shades that will keep your mouth watering all summer long.

Inspired by all the glittering confections of the finest Parisian cafes, the S’il Vous Play collection will take you on a whimsical journey through the chic streets of the city of style, decadence and love with soft pastels and a shimmering metallic that is absolutely delectable.

Anything with a Parisian theme or style has always drawn me in, and I know I’m not the only one attracted to the kitsch wanderlust of the city of lights.  Seeing this Essie collection is making me crave macarons, maintenant…

This soft iridescent sugar white will have you licking your lips all the way to the confiserie!

An irresistible lilac cream inspired by the tastiest macarons dans la Rue!

An unforgettable lavender pink foil that will remind you of the most frosty cake icing and the sweet namesake of this collection.  I’ll take the petit gateau avec Glacage Rose s’il vous plait!

Tres fondant of this sparkling apricot marmalade shade!

Romantic rose candy cream that will evoke all the passion of the city of love.

The prettiest pastel Parisian blue that says casual summer all over it!

June is here, which officially means it’s the start of the summer. Exciting. Festival fever will soon be upon us, which means dropping those dull winter warmers in favour of some sizzling hot trends which ooze boho glamour.

Taste the rainbow and get summer party ready in these succulent multicolour Sophia Webster sandals. These beauties are so irresistible they should really come with an envy warning!

Fluorescent pom-poms and tassels are big news and will take the festival fashion scene by storm this summer, be they on wedges or flats. An unlikely comeback that’s cool, colourful and a little eccentric, this trend is a festival in itself.

Block heels meet block colour, with plenty of ditzy tassel detailing, pom-poms and laces to add an element of Coachella cool. Not only are these Aquazzura offerings easy to walk in they tick every 2017 style box. Eye catching and comfortable, you really can have the best of both worlds!

Rebecca Minkoff’s relaxed yet vivid vibe is going right in my beach bag this summer!

Revolution Haul!

Those of you that enjoy reading my beauty related posts will know I am a big fan of the TAM beauty brand Revolution. Fairly new to drugstores, the London brand regularly run out of stock… in a good way. A lot of their professional quality Eyeshadow palettes are the closest dupes to a lot of the more expensive “holy grail” palettes on the market. Neutrals vs New-trals, a 16-shade eye palette is currently sold out on the website, this gem is almost identical to Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance eye palette. If you’re after this palette, but the £32 ($42) price tag is daunting, Neutrals vs Neutrals from Revolution is your new best friend, and for a sixth of the price!

Revolution Neutrals vs New-trals

Having been eyeing up many of Revolution’s offerings on their website recently, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their newest launch: Flawless 3: Resurrection Pro 32 Eye Palette. Beautifully finished off with rose-gold packaging and boasting a large mirror inside, Flawless 3 is the best spring eye make-up collection yet. It’s packed with plenty of lustrous matte and shimmer shades that range from super versatile everyday neutrals to bolder coral shades and berry tones. I thought I would have to order this online but managed to get it in Superdrug. I’m in love with all of the shades and can’t wait to really get experimenting with this!

Another Revolution palette I bought recently and have been loving for everyday is the Ultra Eye Contour Light And Shade. I used to avoid matte eyeshadows, but what these lack in shimmer they make up for in their wearability. This is well worth a try if you want to create a contoured eye make-up look and add definition to the creases and socket lines of your eyes to add natural looking definition. Using a lighter shade as a base and a darker shade around the socket line and crease is an easy way to master 2017’s cut-crease eye make-up trend.

I’ve gotten into the swing of using matte eyeshadows so much so I have also invested in the Flawless Matte Pro 32 eyeshadows too, and I am amazed by the diversity of the shades. Matte doesn’t have to mean flat!

NYX are another one of my favourite brands. Tame & Frame brow pomades are a recent discovery for me. Having used a pencil from Eyeko for my brows for ages, I thought I’d try something different. Tame & Frame are small pots of ultra soft wax formulated to help shape and define your brows. This non-sticky, easy to use product comes in several shades, from blonde to black (I’m currently using Espresso, a dark brown). Highly recommend if you’ve ever found yourself filling in because you got a bit tweezer happy! NYX #19 angled brush works wonders at sweeping the wax in the direction of natural hairs.

Maybelline have had a few newcomers recently. A sucker for a good highlighter, I discovered the all new Strobe Liquid. It’s a liquid illuminator great for highlighting and strobing that I think is very similar to Benefit’s High Beam or Mac’s Strobe Cream, which are a lot pricier.

Being as I’m about to embark on a weekend away, I thought I would share with you some essential tips on travelling light.  It’s not easy to do when you think about all of the things you can’t leave the house without, but one of the things I think is genius is swapping your generic 100-200ml product bottles for their mini me’s!

Thank you Topshop for leading me to discover edgy London based accessory brand Skinnydip London. I’ve seen a lot of people toting one of your futuristic clutch bags and dressing up their smartphones with the sleekest, most sparkly cases around; my favourite is clear adorned with cerise glittery flamingos!
If you like edgy, beetlejuice shimmer, plenty of glitter and pop-tastic finishing touches check out their web site

Skinnydip London Hannah crossbody bag adorned with their Plushie stickers, which come individually as initials or in sticker packs, can also be used to personalise your smartphone case!

Skinnydip London work closely with LA based NastyGal and they sure know a little Liquid Sarcasm goes a long way!

I love how Skinnydip aren’t afraid to experiment with cool shapes and structures for party bags with a difference!

Love the Pinnata cosmetic bag! (Above)

Amongst my beauty favourites this month are LA nail brand ORLY.  I just love their variety of bold colours, and I’m loving a few Essence Cosmetics goodies too!
Essence Mini Lipgloss set which contains 3 wearable for all shades, is perfect for fitting into a small bag, The Gel nail polishes in A Whisper Of Spring and On Air! Are amongst my favourites, and I just love the mini nail polishes ORLY do, especially Oui and Purple Crush!

Talking of beauty favourites, I’m also looking forward to sampling the offerings of new MAC Viva Glam spokeswoman for 2016, Ariana Grande; if the pop-star’s signature dark berry lip is a little risque for you, rest assured her range for MAC also includes shimmering pinky nude Lipglass.

My favourite weekend look was Saturday night’s ensemble of my Wallis black polka-dot vest tank top which has bows and cut out detailing to the back, with a multi layer statement necklace by Freedom at Topshop.

Album of the month for me is David Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, like any other British music fan I can’t believe such an iconic legend who inspired a lot of people is no longer with us, I’m sure his legacy will live on and continue to inspire those who love his music and individual style.  Thank you Bowie, for such an incredible gift x

Build Your Own: Xmas Fruit Bath… for under £10!

A few days ago I set myself a little money-saving challenge on the present buying front: to find indulgent and colourful bath and body gifts that cost ten pounds or under for a purse friendly stocking filler.

I looked no further than value for money store Wilkinson, where I came across delicious smelling own brand Fruits.  I’ve used some of their products before and they don’t disappoint when it comes to looking and smelling appetizing.

Some of the displays advertising the range suggest filling your bath-tub with treats that match it’s colour but I did something a little different with the clear bathtub so that the recipient of this gift has a rainbow of fruity beauty goodies to try out.  If only the best Christmassy products – the golden shimmery Chocolate Orange scent – weren’t limited edition, you need that smell in your life all year round!

Overall I was really impressed with my under £10 gift haul because I managed to score several items for under £1 and my fruit-bath gift on the whole came to a cheerful £7.75!  I’m looking forward to filming some more festive gift guides with some right treats for the budget-savvy shopper.  Exciting times!

All Your Favourite Brands At A One Stop Shop… Just BLINK!

Beauty & Fragrance, Economics & Finance, Nails, Retail, Style Hunting, Uncategorized

The weekend always throws up new retail opportunities big and small, from random special offers to undiscovered independent stores.

Blink Beauty is my newest discovery and on Saturday, there was no getting me out of this one stop shop!  If you live in or around Wolverhampton and you’re a beauty addict, count yourself lucky; Blink, tucked downstairs in the Mander Centre, offers many major beauty brands under one roof.  We’re talking nail heroes OPI, Essie, and Jeasica and also popular make-up bag regulars L’oreal, Rimmel, W7 and Maybelline New York.

Essie mini gift sets of 3, normal price £12.99, Blink Beauty price… £7.99!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, available at Blink from £1.99!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, also available in some hard to find glitter shades, £4.99!

Since Saturday I have made two visits to this fairly new treasure trove, and have to say that this is one store that should be very well received, because many of the products Blink sell are cheaper than you would normally pay, you won’t believe the savings you’ll make.  I bought 3 OPI nail colours, which normally retail at £11.50 each, in Blink, however, they were a friendlier £6.99!   I wasn’t half kicking myself on Saturday when I discovered this amazing store, because I had just been to Superdrug!

If you haven’t been to Blink yet, I highly recommend it.  The variety of quality beauty essentials and cosmetics is almost endless.
