Unleash some serious wanderlust on the beach and beyond wearing popping pinks and dreamy violets! A hot pink Forever Unique swimsuit with bang on trend lace detail paired with a sharp yet comfy wrap skirt will sizzle along the seafront.  A 3.1 Philip Lim mauve Pashli may induce envy amongst fellow holiday makers!  Brights are excellent at amplifying a golden tan, too!

Serene block colours & simple accessories never go out of date.  Look sleek yet mysterious in a deep ocean Diane Von Furstenburg one piece and Prada block sandals, while a pastel pink Kenzo tote will stylishly hold your essentials whilst adding a touch of feminine simplicity.

Spring through the palms in a D&G tropical bikini and accessorize with the coolest lime green sandals from Prada and a pair of aviators!

Chillax poolside in the dreamiest blues.  One piece swimsuits are big news, and are modest enough to be worn with this summer’s wrap skirts for some stunning summer evening looks.  Arcadia have some irresistible swimsuits and I just love this aquatic looking skirt from Fausto Puglisi!

Clean Lines & Monochrome stripes in the form of the ultimate Marc Jacobs maxi equals instant Beach to bar chic! Don’t forget to add a touch of sparkle, these Giuseppe Zanotti kitten heels are perfection!

Slip into this celestial River swimwear and a pair of mirrored Ray-Bans and unlock that inner mermaid!

Transition this sea foam shimmer swimsuit from River Island from sitting at the sea side to sipping cocktails outside! Add a tropical print wrap skirt like this Missoni beauty and a cross body bag in a cool hue like this one from Jimmy Choo.  And these designer look platforms are a steal from ASOS!

Summer brights & pastels inspired by sweetest, juiciest seaside treats! Ruffled dresses like this Anna October maxi are fresh off the catwalk! Amp it up with a juicy clutch from Commes Des Garçons and a pop of watermelon gloss on nails and lips!

Maxi up a midsummer’s night in a floor length Melissa Obadash dress that’s just peachy. Bling up a plain dress with a choker, the hottest boho glam jewellery trend of SS17.  Be daring, add an unexpected accessory like Judith Leiber’s crystal encrusted beach ball clutch.

Top bikini myth… busted!

I The Myth: I’m too big to wear that!
The Truth: You pick 1 or 2 sizes bigger than your true size because of the lack of material the factory have used to make the garments. This is the case at a lot of high street favourites where you find although you’re buying in the UK/US, the actual garment was made in a factory elsewhere, where workers often aren’t given enough materials to work with when making the garment and end up making a much smaller representation of what a British 10 or 12 is.

In some cases you may get the illusion swimwear is too small if you’ve picked the wrong shape for your body type. Women’s bodies come in different shapes and no two are the same, therefore, that’s why the swimwear industry is the confusing maze that it is, with all sorts of top and bottom shapes available, you may get lost in a sea of lycra separates, but all the time the one may be staring you in the face!
If you’re flatter chested you wear triangular cut and bandeau top shapes easier than those who are fuller busted, who benefit from the extra support offered by halter-necks, underwired and moulded tops.

The best of the rest: summer beauty switch!
Swap your usual foundation/tinted moisture for all new MAC Lightful C Tinted Creme, £25.50; an all important SPF 30 with a built in radiance booster… this multi-tasker truly protects and perfects. http://www.maccosmetics.com/co.uk

For a healthy glow that won’t budge… try BECCA Beach Tint, £20; available in several wearable shades, this make-up bag essential can be worn on both cheeks and lips, it’s buildable formula means it can deliver anything from a hint of warmth to a pop of colour.
Can’t quite go eye make-up free? You can at least avoid the Alice Cooper look with one of the best waterproof mascara launches yet… Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof, £7.99; gives luscious, pool-proof lashes in one swipe!

Digitally Distracted By SS15 Seperates!

The beautifully eerie weather this weekend that seems to bring out all the greys & greens of the city and the fact some of my friends have just enjoyed a week or two in sunnier climbs has made me fast forward to summer and wish all those short, sharp showers away.

Swimwear wise if you want to go for something less traditional than retro or florals (which still bloom just as strong!), Primark is your one-stop shop for contenprorary art-deco and digital prints with shapes available to flatter all figures.

Modern patterns meeting feminine frills make for 21st century boho glam.  Floaty shapes keep you cool in zones that can get super-hot such as the Med, Mexico or Australia.

Tan-Kini style tops and high waisted bottoms ensure you still sizzle at that seaside whilst you’re more covered-up.  One pieces are just as flattering as two pieces too.

Pretty pastels will reign supreme if you’re lucky enough to gain a beautiful golden glow; halter straps also give optimum hold-up for a fuller bust.

Timeless animal print has been revived with white and bold popsicle hues.

If you’re indecisive about what to wear, busier patterns like ditzy digital print combine spots of all different colours to create a beautiful rainbow, compliments guaranteed!

Sizzle This Summer: Triumph In Tropicals & Rock Retro Shapes

Already planning your summer break?  Are you one of these people who plans in their head what you want to buy to wear on the beach or at the bar before you’ve even decided on a destination?  Congratulations, you’re a pre-planner!  Like me, you vision what swimwear separates you will pack and you carefully select shoes and other accessories for trips to the bar or shopping on vacation.  If you’re a pre-planner, your eye for detail is stellar and you consider what goes with what before pulling it from the shelf or your closet.

(These tropical beauties will go great with simple dresses and jeans, if you can only pack one pair of shoes… £29.99 from New Look!)

I’m a pre-planner and like to celebrate those chic ensembles with an alternative twist, and possibly inspired by a bygone day.

(Bold Stripe Bikini Top, £18.99, New Look)

(Bold Stripe Bikini Bottoms, £9.99, New Look)

Retro look high waisted bikini bottoms and bandeau shapes are big news for SS15.  Gone are their stringy, barely there predecessors; these are shapes that flatter curves and embrace a woman’s silhouette.  When I spotted them on New Look’s Instagram feed, I thought these are pieces Marilyn Monroe would pick out!

Tropical prints are enjoying a welcome return.  H&M are enjoying the comeback of beautiful botanicals with this versatile one-piece. Grab some flip flops and a silky kimono in a complimenting colour for a day on the beach, then make it pop on a hot summer night with chunky jewellery, brights and wedges. Whether you’re festival-going or sun worshipping this summer, it is easier than you think to pack a capsule wardrobe and still have all the tips and tricks you need to look sexy in seconds!

Vacations mean versitality in the wardrobe department, if you’re boarding with an unkind baggage allowance, pack accessories in a colour that will go with all of your outfits.  White and metallics give any look a clean, futuristic touch of glamour.  Primark’s flip flops and sandals are worth checking out, you’ll be spoilt for choice, and they’re all under £10!

Every part of your vacation should be fun, inclusive of booking, packing and setting off in style.  Schedule enough time for all your preparations and enjoy every moment!
